Slow Cooker Cheesy SteakThis dish is the definition of “set it and forget it.” By the time dinner rolls around, you have incredibly tender meat topped with a thick, golden layer of melted cheese.Ingredients1000g (1kg) Beef (Sirloin or Chuck roast), cut into cubes or thick strips.400g Seasoned tomato sauce (or a thick beef gravy).30g Steak seasoning or Fajita seasoning mix.200g Shredded Mozzarella cheese (for that thick, melty crust).1 large White onion, sliced.Instructions1. Layering:Place the sliced onions at the bottom of your slow cooker. This creates a flavor base and prevents the meat from sticking.Place the beef pieces on top of the onions. Sprinkle the seasoning over the meat and toss slightly to coat.2. Liquid:Pour the tomato sauce (or gravy) over the beef. You don’t need much extra liquid as the beef and onions will release their own juices during the long cooking process.3. The Slow Cook:Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or on High for 3–4 hours. The meat is ready when it is “fork-tender” (falls apart easily).4. The Cheesy Finish:About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella generously over the top.Cover again and let it sit until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
